PURPOSE: To study the clinical effect combined with mitomycin C and removed sutures. METHODS: Seventy-five patients (99 eyes) with glaucoma were randomized to two groups: a controlled group underwent normal trabeculectomy, and an observed group with trabeculectomy. Intraocular pressure (IOP), anterior chamber depth, filtering blebs, visual acuity, and other ocular complications, were measured and compared between the two groups. RESULTS: The incidence of low postoperative IOP, shallow anterior chamber, visual acuity loss, and other complications in the observed group were less than those in the controlled group. CONCLUSIONS: Trabeculectomy could effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative complications by controlling the amount of aqua oculi flowing out. It is worth being applied in surgical glaucoma operations. LA: Chinese
