AIM: To investigate the effect of combined trabeculectomy on the secondary glaucoma induced by traumatic subluxation of lens. METHODS: In 7 patients (7 eyes) with clearing lens dislocation less than two quadrants and secondary glaucoma difficult to be controlled by medicine, we chose combined trabeculectomy in the quadrant without lens dislocation and vitreous incarceration. RESULTS: Six patients' intraocular pressure (IOP) restored normally (less than 21 mmHg) after operation among the 7 patients with follow-up of 6-12 months. The other patient's IOP could be controlled by medicine. Three patients obtained improvements in visual acuities. CONCLUSION: Combined trabeculectomy in the quadrant without lens dislocation and vitreous incarceration is an effective treatment for the secondary glaucoma induced by traumatic subluxation of lens.
