Chen and Lai (208) from Taiwan reported a strong positive association between IOP and systolic blood pressure in a group of 1271 Chinese.
Klein et al. (212) extracted data from the Beaver Dam Study, US, and found an increase of 0.21 mmHg IOP for every 10 mmHg increase in systemic blood pressure, and of 0.43 mmHg for every 10 mmHg diastolic blood pressure. Furthermore they report that reduced blood pressure was associated with reduced IOP. The Klein study puts the relationship between IOP and blood pressure in perspective. For only one mmHg difference in IOP we need about 50 mmHg difference in systemic blood pressure and 25 mmHg in diastolic blood pressure. That seems to be a lot of blood pressure millimeters.
