  1. Peripapillary RNFL thickness measurements were compared between Stratus and Spectralis OCT were compared among glaucomatous eyes. The measurements were significantly different. RNFL measurements tended to be higher with Stratus than with Spectralis. (R. Sandhya, Bangalore)
  2. Thirteen percent of 514 first-degree relatives of POAG patients of Indian ethnicity were detected to have POAG on examination. Another 5% were glaucoma suspects or ocular hypertensive. Targeted examination of relatives of POAG patients could help improve diagnosis rates. (Sharmila, Madurai)
  3. On comparing utility values and Quality of Life among juvenile and adult onset open-angle glaucoma. Quality of life was worse in adults compared to juvenile glaucoma patients. Poorer visual acuity in the better eye could be attributed to the poorer QOL among adults as compared to juvenile POAG. (Paromita Dutta, New Delhi)
  4. While corneal resistance factor on the ORA changed significantly after a one year follow up of patients with keratoconus who had undergone collagen cross linking , IOPg remained unchanged. (KP Narendra, Bangalore)
  5. One fourth of juvenile primary open angle glaucoma patients present as a unilateral optic neuropathy. A large proportion of even those with bilateral glaucomatous optic neuropathy have asymmetric visual field defects. Primary JOAG presents with marked asymmetry to the extent of being a unilateral glaucoma.( Shikha Gupta, New Delhi)
  6. A strong correlation was noted between Disc damage likelihood stage score and GDx-VCC for small and average sized discs. (Prashanth.R, Madurai)
  7. On comparing Rebound I-care tonometer with Goldman Applanation tonometer (GAT) wide limits of agreement for IOP values were noted.( Sushma Tejwani, Bangalore)
  8. Rate of visual field progression measured using the visual field Index was similar in POAG & PACG subjects.( Sirisha Senthil, Hyderabad)
  9. QLI Scores for glaucoma were significantly lower for glaucoma than cataract in general vision, social function, mental health, role difficulties, dependency subscales in NEIVFQ-25. There was greater burden of care in glaucoma patients and their families as compared to cataract patients for all sub scales including financial burden, disruption of routine family activities, family leisure, family interaction, physical health and mental health. (Neha, Chandigarh)
  10. On 24 hour phasing 20.0% of POAG, 19 % of NTG, 15% of ocular hypertensives and 11% of normals had peak IOP outside office hours. (Preeti Gupta, Manipal)
