We retrospectively studied long-term outcome after trabeculectomy with releasable suture in advanced glaucoma in 67 consecutive glaucomic eyes. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was recorded preoperatively and periodically following surgery for up to 2 years. Early ( < 1 month) postoperative IOP was a reasonable indicator of long-term IOP control in eyes with advanced glaucoma.
