AIM: To investigate the effect of Semiconductor laser and YAG laser peripheral iridotomy for the treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma. METHODS: Semiconductor laser and YAG laser peripheral iridotomy were performed on 110 eyes of 89 patients. RESULTS: After treatments, all cases were performed successfully and no buttonhole was closed. There was no significant change between before and after treatment visual acuity. One week after treatment, the intraocular pressure was 0.93-2.67kPa (averaged 1.87kPa). Depth of peripheral anterior chamber angle had been improved. CONCLUSION: Semiconductor laser and YAG laser peripheral iridotomy are easy to operate and the treatment is safe and effective. It is a good method for the treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma. LA: Chinese
