How to face the new classification of primary angle closure glaucoma

Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology 2006; 42: 961-963

Recent years, some foreign glaucoma specialists raised a new classification system, in which the patients with angle closure and the related risk factors are divided into anatomic narrow angle, primary angle closure and primary angle closure glaucoma(PACG). There is big gap between this new classification system and the traditional classification system of PACG, used in China for a long time. Facing this new classification system, we should not simply refuse it, or totally accept it. We should carefully analyze it and absorb the essence, then raise our view about the classification and the diagnosis criteria of PACG. LA: Chinese
