AIM: To evaluate the therapeutic effect of combined trabeculectomy with limbal conjunctival incision and conjunctival incision posterior limbal 1 millimeter. METHODS: Fifty-one eyes were randomly divided into two groups. The conjunctival flaps were performed with different incisions separately: limbal conjunctival incision (group 1) and conjunctival incision posterior limbal 1 millimeter (group 2). Intraocular pressure, filtering bleb, depth of anterior chamber and water leakage in conjunctival incision after operation were observed and compared. RESULTS: The incidence of complications like water leakage, shallow anterior chamber in group 2 were obviously less than that in group 1. But the intraocular pressure and the form of filtering bleb had no differences. CONCLUSION: Conjunctival incision posterior limbal 1 millimeter can not only reduce the water leakage in conjunctival incision, but also accelerate incision adhesion after operation. LA: Chinese
