This article reports a study of 35 glaucomatous eyes of 34 patients undergoing ab externo sclerostomy with holmium laser. Complete success was defined as intraocular pressure equal to or lower than 22 mmHg without topical medications. At 24 months follow-up, complete success was reported in 23% of eyes, partial success in 20%, and failure in 57%. We conclude that such treatment achieves best results in cases of simple chronic glaucoma.
