The 6th World Glaucoma Association Consensus on Blood flow in glaucoma, an important and highly controversial subject, is comprised of more than 100 global blood flow experts. Divided over 5 sections:
1. Anatomy & physiology;
2. Clinical measurement of blood flow;
3. Clinical relevance of ocular blood flow measurements (incl.
effects of general medications or specific glaucoma treatment);
4. Should measurements of blood flow be implemented?; and
5. What do we need to know?
These discussions will be summarized in a preliminary Consensus report. After comments by Glaucoma Societies and WGA Glaucoma Industry Members, the report will be discussed at the Blood Flow Consensus Meeting on May 2, the Saturday preceding ARVO, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA. All those who are interested and want to attend this meeting are welcome. There is no registration fee, but you are requested to please register with Mariska van der Veen, the WGA General Executive Officer at vanderveen@worldglaucoma.org.
