Tonosafe™

The Tonosafe™ disposable prisms are a convenient, effective method of reducing the risk of cross infection between patients when performing contact tonometry.

Based on the success in some European countries as well as in the USA and for the benefit of eye care professionals worldwide, Haag-Streit now makes Tonosafe™ available around the globe.

Contact tonometry utilising the Goldmann Applanation Tonometer has become the standard method of testing intraocular pressure (IOP). The intraocular pressure in a patient's eye is a measurement that is used in the diagnosis of glaucoma.

Tonosafe™ has been developed by Haag-Streit for single patient use and is supplied as a sterile product. There is no more need to disinfect the prisms which is laborious and costly.

Tonosafe™ is approved by Haag-Streit and shows precision mechanics together with precision optics and therefore delivers accurate results with all Goldmann and Perkins contact tonometers.
