Within a few weeks we hope to welcome you all in the beautiful city of Vancouver at the 5th World Glaucoma Congress (July 17-20). Preparations for the congress are in full swing. The educational program will provide you with a wide variety of topics. As during previous WGCs, a full Glaucoma Surgery Day is planned on Friday July 19. In addition, a Childhood Glaucoma Day will be organized as part of the official congress program on Thursday, July 18, with highlights from the new Childhood Glaucoma Consensus. For full details of all symposiums and courses, including faculty and presentation titles, please visit: www.worldglaucoma.org.
One day prior to the start of WGC-2013, WGA holds its 9th Consensus Meeting. This year's topic is Childhood Glaucoma. The meeting will be held at the Convention Center in Vancouver from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. If you would be interested to participate as an observer, please contact the WGA Executive Office, via info@worldglaucoma.org.
We are happy to announce that so far over 22 member Glaucoma Societies have taken the opportunity to (co-)organize a symposium on Wednesday July 17, 8-10 a.m. Please check the WGC- 2013 site if your Society is a symposium organizer, as individual members of these societies will receive a reduction of 10% of the WGC-2013 registration fee.
As you will read on page 76 and 77, the WGA encourages member societies to inform us about highlights of their local and regional annual meetings. Please contact the WGA Executive Office if you would be interested in including a 'Top-Ten report' of a recently held affiliated Glaucoma Society congress.
I am looking forward to meeting you in Vancouver to share vital Glaucoma education and to enjoy the many special places this destination is offering you.
