On behalf of the Board of Governors and the World Glaucoma Week Committee, I would like to thank all around the world for their active contribution with regards to the 7th edition of World Glaucoma Week. Over 700 awareness events were registered via the WGW world map, which is just the tip of the iceberg of all events being organized. Thank you also for sharing your news, photos and creative ideas via the WGW Facebook page. We deeply appreciate the dedication of so many motivated colleagues, patients and industry representatives joining forces and creating the necessary extra attention for glaucoma.
If you did not yet register your event via the WGW-2014 site, please take a few minutes to do so. Next year's WGW is planned from March 8 - 14, 2015.
New plans for IGR are on its way. If you are not yet receiving IGR online, we urge you to inform the WGA Executive Office about your email address via info@worldglaucoma.org, so you will not miss any of the IGR content.
The new WGA website has been launched. Our new website will be the central place for glaucoma education (Consensus meetings, WGC's, Educational Portal), publications (IGR, Consensus books, newsletters), general information and more WGA news. The site will also provide you with information about the WGA Educational Portal. Via this portal you are able to listen and watch over 40 recorded sessions of the 5th World Glaucoma Congress held in Vancouver last year. Registered participants have free access. Please take a few minutes to visit the new WGA website (www.worldglaucoma.org) for all details and a sneak preview of one of the symposiums.
As you probably know the next World Glaucoma Congress will be held in Hong Kong from June 6-9, 2015. Mark your calendar and save the dates!
Please enjoy this IGR and let me know your thoughts regarding our WGA initiatives. You can reach me at (Fechtner@worldglaucoma.com). You can also contact our WGA Executive Office (info@worldglaucoma.org) if you need any information or have questions on IGR or WGA related matters.
