IGR goes electronic! This is the last printed issue of IGR you will be receiving. As of Volume 16, which will be distributed by the end of October, International Glaucoma Review will be published as an online journal only. Of course one of the main reasons for making this decision is the cost and complexity of printing and distributing our publication world wide. Onlineonly is the future for many publications and WGA has decided to take this step now as well. We promise our readers to maintain the high quality of our publication and also to provide you with easy reading and even printing options, should you desire this.
The IGR online edition provides you with the same items as you have grown accustomed to in print: Editor's Selection, Glaucoma Opinion, Glaucoma Dialogue, News by WGA, Meeting Reports and many other items. You will be able to download each issue to your favorite reading device (tablet, phone, laptop, desktop, etc.) for offline reading. All abstracts are accessible through the website; you can browse by classification (topic), by journal or conduct a search in the extensive IGR abstracts database. If available, links to the full article (on the journal website) are provided.
If you are currently not receiving IGR online, we urge you to inform the WGA Executive Office about your e-mail address via info@worldglaucoma.org or to complete the online form, which you can find at www.worldglaucoma.org.
The next World Glaucoma Congress will be held in Hong Kong from June 6-9, 2015. Preparations for the program are in progress. Via the WGA website you will be able to find an overview of the great variety in symposiums and courses planned so far. As of October 6, registration and abstract submission will be possible. Hong Kong is a city that connects East and West in a decor of history, business and tremendous natural beauty. The Organizing Committee invites you to join us in Hong Kong for the sixth edition of the World Glaucoma Congress.
Please enjoy this last 'hardcopy' IGR and let me know your thoughts regarding all WGA initiatives. You can reach me at (Fechtner@worldglaucoma.com). You can also contact our WGA Executive Office (info@worldglaucoma.org) if you need any information or have questions on IGR or WGA related matters.
