Dear Colleagues,
The 7th World Glaucoma Congress will start soon in Helsinki (June 28–July 1). The WGC-2017 Program Planning Committee has worked diligently these last two years to offer the best possible program. This is surely one of the strong pillars required in meeting your needs for an international congress focused on the highest quality education about glaucoma.
From Surgery, Wound healing, Structural and Functional testing, Medical treatment and Non-Incisional Surgery, Epidemiology to Grand Rounds, the film festival or poster walks, the list of topics and activities covers nearly all aspects of our subspecialty.
In addition, this year’s program places great emphasis on Exfoliation. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the description of exfoliation by the Finnish ophthalmologist, John Lindberg. The topic will be covered in the Presidential Symposium as well as in several other sessions. Visit www.worldglaucomacongress.org to view the full program.
Also, new this year are the expanded and enhanced Wet Labs. No other glaucoma-related congress has ever included this quantity or diversity of Wet Labs. Therefore, we are tremendously thrilled with the work of the Wet Lab Committee, and the participation of the eight companies making this initiative possible. Sign up now for a Wet Lab via www.worldglaucomacongress.org.
Similar to the WGC-2015 in Hong Kong, we are offering all WGC-2017 delegates in Helsinki a special complimentary printed edition of IGR. Please visit the WGA Booth at the entrance of the Congress/Exhibition hall in order to collect your free IGR 18-3 sample.
WGA ONE is the name of our newest online member community system which allows you to create your very own private WGA profile and provides the opportunity to directly, at any given moment, change personal details such as your email address. As you may expect, this profile is also linked to the delivery of IGR. Soon we will be contacting you on how to check and update your profile.
Please let me know your thoughts regarding our efforts in this and all WGA initiatives.
You can reach me at Fechtner@worldglaucoma.com. You can also contact our WGA Executive Office (info@worldglaucoma.org) if you need any information or have questions on IGR or WGA-related matters.
